The National Strategies are professional development programmes for Early Years, Primary and Secondary school teachers, practitioners and managers. This new area of the DCSF Standards web site offers users an advanced Content Management System allowing content to be found easily. The site also contains many web 2.0 features including the ability for users to take part in discussions and groups.

Villiers Park Educational Trust are experts in Gifted and Talented education, inspiring teachers and post-16 students from all backgrounds towards better teaching and learning.

We developed a micro site for Villiers Park to deliver high quality online educational activities for post-16 AS/A2 Students. This micro site required a bespoke content management system to be developed, to allow multimedia training videos and PDF activity files to be uploaded. We also developed the CMS to allow editing of the web site.

The web site has now been promoted to post-16 educational establishments in England, giving students a valuable learning resource for their studies.

Grant Systems provide a range of services for the Network Management and Security areas in many of the world's largest organisations. Clients of Grant Systems range through the largest banks and telecommunications companies, the legal market, insurance, and education sectors. The company required development of a brochure web site to show case products and services and a CMS system to update content.

Fishdev.co.uk developed the front and back end of firsttimebuys.co.uk - a searchable property site aimed at first time buyers. The site allows estate agents or private sellers to upload properties automatically for free after registering on the site, via a personalised on line control panel. First time buyers can then search through these properties by location or by entering their salary which then returns a selection of properties that may be affordable. Other applications developed include a Google maps API tool, photo uploading and asset management for properties and a first time buyer discussion forum.

Fishdev.co.uk provided front end web design consultancy of the web site which included ensuring the web site and its interactive tools were fully usable and accessible. Focus groups were run with a range of pupils around England to ensure that suitable solutions were developed. We also delivered important changes to the CMS system ensuring that YG&T staff now have full control over all of their web site content.

The National Institute of Economic and Social Research - www.niesr.ac.uk

The National Institute of Economic and Social Research previously had a static HTML web site. However, as a high profile academic organisation, the Institute was producing thousands of research documents yearly with no easy way of presenting these to the public on this static web site. Requirements were analysed for this project and a database capable of storing all research was produced, linked to a web interface that visitors could easily browse and search through. We also developed a company intranet and other Content Management system functionality, including a database driven staff directory.

Workplace Employment Relations Survey 2004 - www.wers2004.info

The Information and Advice Service was established to encourage use of survey data from the 2004 Workplace Employment Relations Survey (WERS 2004). The web site required a database to be developed to store research based on WERS 2004. Also developed was a publicly available research submission form to add data to the database.

The Rent Service - www.therentservice.gov.uk

Key services delivered: Intranet development and CMS review, web site accessibility review.

The Rent Service is a public sector organisation, an agency of the DWP. We managed the development of an intranet for the Rent Services’ 900 staff located in 30 offices. Applications developed for the intranet included a searchable staff directory, forum, staff survey, monthly quiz and content management system. Training was also delivered at staff inductions on the use of the intranet and to Content Editors on the use of the Content Management System. We also carried out a full accessibility review of the intranet and public web site to ensure government accessibility requirements were met (W3C AA compliance).

Key services delivered: Front end web site re-design, usability review, requirements gathering, CMS consultancy.

Technology project services required a redesign of their corporate web site and then also integration of an external job vacancy management tool with their web site. This meant that TPS recruitment consultants only entered jobs advertisements once - the job advert was then automatically posted onto multiple job board web sites, including the in house TPS site.
